INTV Exclusive: Iran\’s Revolution: The Rise of the Resistance Units and the Fight for Freedom
Since 2017, Iran has witnessed a wave of major protests, as its people demand regime change and reject any form of tyranny. The citizens of Iran are not willing to return to the rule of the Shah but seek a new era where they can determine their own future in a democratic Republic.
At the forefront of this struggle are the MEC resistance units, which have emerged as a vanguard and driving force for the protests and uprisings across the country. These units have been tirelessly spreading the message of resistance, keeping the spirit of rebellion alive throughout Iran. They play a pivotal role in organizing protests and have become a beacon of hope for many, emphasizing the rejection of all forms of oppression.
The impact of their efforts is evident in the reactions from regime officials, who consistently express concern over the role played by the PMOI in the nationwide uprisings. Despite facing brutal repression, the ranks of the resistance units have only grown stronger. During the 2022 uprising, more than 3,000 members were arrested or went missing, yet the movement continues to thrive.
In recent months, the resistance units have sent over 20,000 video messages supporting the Iranian resistance and Mrs. Maryam Rajavi\’s 10-point plan to the 2024 Free Iran Summit. This is a movement that will not rest until freedom and the establishment of a democratic Republic are achieved in Iran.
